In Christ                                                        1/22/2009      ßà

It is not commonly known that the Bible portrays the elect of God as having been “in Christ” from before the foundation of the world (Eph 1:4). And since before the foundation of this universe there was only God the Father, and God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, it must mean that the elect were “in God the Son” in the same way that all humanity was in the loins of Adam at the beginning of time. It is the representative principle all over again. Look at all the Scriptures that are stating this fact, which clearly show that anyone who will still deny this is a fool who does not believe the Word of God.

Ro 3:24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Ro 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Ro 8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Ro 8:39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ro 9:1  I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

Ro 12:5  So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

Ro 16:3  Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:

Ro 16:7  Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.

Ro 16:9  Salute Urbane, our helper in Christ, and Stachys my beloved.

Ro 16:10  Salute Apelles approved in Christ. Salute them which are of Aristobulus’ household.

1Co 1:2  Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

1Co 1:30  But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

1Co 3:1  And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

1Co 4:10  We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

1Co 4:17  For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

1Co 15:18  Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

1Co 15:19  If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

1Co 15:22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1Co 15:31  I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

2Co 2:17  For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

2Co 3:14  But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

2Co 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2Co 5:19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

The Bible writes that if we are “in Christ” then we shall also be “with Christ” in His atonement.

                                                                        With Christ

Ro 6:8  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Ro 8:17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint–heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Ga 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Eph 2:5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Php 1:23  For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

Col 2:20  Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

Col 3:1  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Col 3:3  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Re 20:4  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

The atonement was accomplished “by Jesus Christ”, but only “through the cross of Christ”.

                                                            By Jesus Christ

Joh 1:17  For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Ac 10:36  The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

Ro 2:16  In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Ro 5:21  That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

1Co 1:4  I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by (in) Jesus Christ;

2Co 5:18  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Ga 1:1  Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

Eph 1:5  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Eph 3:9  And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Php 1:11  Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

1Pe 2:5  Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

All these expressions “by Jesus Christ” are in the Greek actually “through Jesus Christ”, except in 1Cor 1:4, which means that all these prophecies were fulfilled at the cross, for there is where the action is “through Jesus Christ”.

                                                            In Jesus Christ

Ga 2:16  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Ga 5:6  For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Php 1:26  That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

Jude 1:1  Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

To be chosen and placed “in Jesus Christ” means that God predestinated us to be conformed to the image of His Son Jesus Christ. Why are there so many people who deny predestination? Look at all the evidence listed in this study. Only if you are spiritually blind can you not see the evidence.

                                                                        Predestinate

Ro 8:29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Ro 8:30  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Eph 1:5  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

To predestinate a person means to determine his destiny beforehand. And when does God’s decision to predestinate a person take place? Since our God does not change it must have taken place before the foundation of the world, when God chose us in Christ (Eph 1:4). Therefore the word “chosen” reflects the act of God of having chosen and predestinated us to eternal life in Christ.

                                                                        Chosen

Mt 12:18  Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

Mt 20:16  So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Joh 6:70  Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

Joh 13:18  I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

Joh 15:16  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Joh 15:19  If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Ac 1:2  Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

Ac 1:24  And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

Ac 9:15  But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

Ac 10:41  Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

Ac 15:22  Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

Eph 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
